Starting and running a business in the City of Sarnia just became easier thanks to BizPaL, an online Canada-wide system designed to simplify access to information about business
permits, licenses and other regulatory requirements needed to establish, operate and grow a business.
The announcement about the completion of the integration was made on October 2nd.
Available 24/7, there is no fee for businesses doing the search other than fees for whatever permit is being sought. BizPaL was set up by the Federal Government under Innovation, Science and
Economic Development Canada in 2005. Provinces and territories (including Ontario) pay a fee for the use of the BizPaL network, but municipalities do not. This tools will will help our local
business by providing “maximum simplicity and convenience.”
This is a welcome improvement for businesses operating in Sarnia and we are pleased that the implementation came as quickly as it did.
