Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a Chamber of Commerce?
A: The Chamber of Commerce works with the community promoting both small and large businesses. Our main objective is to give businesses an expansive number of opportunities to network with business people, potential clientele, and community leaders. This could be anything from large-scale events to smaller groupings. We also work hand-in-hand with the community and community leaders to enrich the quality of life in the Sarnia Lambton area.
Q: Why should I join the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce?
A: You will automatically be listed in our on-line Business Directory and your business may be featured in our newsletter and website. You will also be rewarded with numerous opportunities to promote your business and get to know other area business leaders and community leaders as well. Through regular e-newsletters you will be the first to know about happenings in your community and any changes being made that might affect your business.
Q: What if I don’t have time to attend any of the activities or meetings?
A: Being a member does not mean you are obligated to attend anything. Everything offered to you is there to benefit you and your business. If too busy, send a team member in your place or visit our staff at a time that is convenient to you. The chamber also utilizes electronic communication and social media to connect with our members in a number of ways.
Q: How will I be recognized as a Chamber Member?
A: You will be given a membership sticker/plaque to display at your business location and if you choose, you can print a special Chamber logo in your advertisements/publications. You will be introduced at our New Member Orientation, Business After 5 events and meetings. There are many opportunities to receive special recognition by sponsoring events. We will also refer callers to use your business. Q: How does the Chamber directly help my business?
A: Networking one-on-one, even in the day of digital communication, is still the most effective marketing way to create new clients or promote your project or organization. The Chamber is actively engaged in promoting business friendly legislation and provides learning and growth through forums with speakers on a variety of subjects.
