What's New This Week - December 05, 2024
The Chamber of Commerce has submitted a formal letter to MP Marilyn Gladu, urging her to advocate for swift intervention in the ongoing postal strike. The letter highlights the significant impact the strike is having on local businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, which rely heavily on timely postal services for operations, customer communications, and deliveries. The Chamber emphasized the critical need for a resolution to mitigate disruptions during the busy holiday season, ensuring businesses can continue to thrive and serve their customers effectively. The Chamber stands ready to collaborate with MP Gladu and other stakeholders to address these urgent concerns.

“Be Part of the Solution” is a campaign created by the County of Lambton’s Social Services Division, centered on three key engagement goals: public education, awareness of ongoing and emerging homelessness prevention services, and widespread, whole-community action to address homelessness.
By making information on homelessness more accessible, keeping the public informed of local initiatives, and providing a suite of actions that community members can take (dependent on their capacity to engage with this issue), we hope to convey how homelessness affects the health and well-being of our whole community, and everyone can be part of the solution.
Chamber Members can join us December 16, between 12pm and 1pm for a free webinar exploring homelessness in our community. Questions can be submitted to info@slchamber.ca prior to December 09, 2024.
