November 27, 2024
The Ontario government has asked Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to begin discussions with Indigenous, community and municipal leaders on its existing sites in Port Hope, Haldimand County and St. Clair Township to determine community support for all types of new energy generation, including nuclear, to meet Ontario’s soaring demand for electricity.
Ontario Urges Bank of Canada to Lower Interest Rates to Support Job Creation
December 06, 2024
Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, issued the following statement on December 6th's monthly employment release by Statistics Canada.
“Ontario has added nearly 200,000 jobs this year, highlighting the resilience of our economy. However, last month’s job numbers remind us of the challenges that persist. These results, once again, underscore the need for the Bank of Canada to lower interest rates, a critical step in supporting job creation, rebuilding our economy and creating opportunities for workers across the province.
“Be Part of the Solution”
Chamber Members can join this free webinar in partnership with the County of Lambton’s Social Services Division.
They will be focusing on three key goals:
1️⃣ Educating the public about homelessness,
2️⃣ Raising awareness of existing and emerging homelessness prevention services, and
3️⃣ Encouraging collective, community-wide action to address homelessness.
By making information accessible, keeping the public informed about local initiatives, and offering actionable steps tailored to different levels of engagement, the campaign aims to highlight how homelessness impacts the health and well-being of the entire community—and how everyone can play a role in the solution.
Chamber Members are invited to a free webinar on December 16, from 12 PM to 1 PM, to explore homelessness in our community.
Let’s come together to make a difference!
