CEO Carrie McEachran and Transportation Committee Chair Mark Lumley reinforced the importance of this critical community asset, joining other delegates in calling for future funding and support.

January’s job numbers are in: Canada continues to outperform expectations, adding 76,000 jobs — triple what was forecasted. Private-sector hiring, full-time gains, and strong core-age employment have fueled three months of impressive growth.

Total hours worked surged, setting a solid foundation for Q1 GDP. Manufacturing saw a boost, likely from U.S. importers stocking up ahead of potential tariffs.  

But as our Chief Economist, Stephen Tapp, warns, if those tariffs take effect, this momentum could reverse fast.
